Margaret L. Wolverton
|
| |
Margaret L.
Wolverton is an LPGA Class A teaching professional who
lives and teaches in Las Vegas, NV. Originally from
Chicago, Margaret began playing golf at age 10, winning
several junior titles, and playing college golf at
Illinois State University in 1976. From there, she
pursued a varied and successful business career in
Chicago before returning, in 1996, to her first love,
golf, as a player and LPGA member. She has taught for
several prestigious golf schools in the country,
including the Golf Digest Schools, She has chosen
California Golf Schools as her home because, as she says
"this is one of the only completely student-centered
golf schools in the country, one which requires us as
instructors to continue our golf teaching education, to
focus solely on the individual talents and needs of our
students, and to work to insure that their golf school
experience produces the results they desire. We are not
method instructors. We do not work under an owner's ego.
We will bring to bear whatever instructional modalities
are required to help you achieve your goals." (A note
from Bruce Baird--the above remarks were unsolicited but
right on !)

Bob Sather, U.S.N. (Ret.)
|
| |
Welcome aboard to
Bob Sather, U.S.N. (Ret.). From Desert Storm to the
California Golf Schools is an interesting journey but
Bob Sather has made the trip. Bob Sather, a PGA member,
is a veteran of more than 25 years of golf instruction.
His association with his mentor, the late Mr. Paul
Runyan, 1934, and 1938 PGA Champion, highlighted his
golf teaching experience. In addition, Arnold Palmer
certified Bob as one of his premier instructor's at the
Arnold Palmer Golf Academy. Bob's playing career, (cut
short by injuries received during submarine service in
the Viet Nam war), includes the PGA tour, and various
mini tours. While teaching golf to Desert Storm
personnel, Bob developed the personal belief that
teaching must be "person centered" and says, "Mr. Runyan
at 92 helped me to learn the difference between
communicating the real essence of this game versus just
passing on information." If there is any person whose
opinion can attest to Bob's highly developed skills as a
teacher, these remarks from the late Paul Runyan says it
all. And we quote:
Bob is currently working toward his Doctorate in
Education at Redlands University where he lives with his
family, when not teaching golf. The California Golf
Schools is pleased and honored to have Bob as a member
of our staff

Fred Arcaina, Lt.
U.S.N. (Ret.)
|
| |
Fred was born into
a golfing family and has continued the tradition as he
is currently a member of the PGA program at Eastlake CC
in California. He also combined military service of 22
years with his golfing career as he taught and served
around the world. He was a member of the US Navy Ryder
Cup team, competed in the Orient, the Mid-East and the
United States and was a member of the All US NAVY Team
one of only 10 in his service. He has taught since 1982
and his command of the fundamentals combined with high
energy and enthusiasm instills into his students a great
confidence in their own swing mechanics. For a player-teacher
Fred is an outstanding mix, and CGS is pleased to have
